The 36-year-old is reportedly gearing up for a comeback fight this summer.
Anthony Joshua last stepped into the ring on December 19, securing a brutal stoppage victory over Jake Paul.
Just ten days later, while visiting Nigeria, Joshua was involved in a tragic car accident that claimed the lives of two of his close friends.
After taking several months away from boxing, the two-time world heavyweight champion confirmed he intends to continue his career.
He has now returned to sparring at his first-ever boxing gym, Finchley ABC.
His renewed activity in the gym has already sparked speculation about who he might face in his long-awaited comeback.
Our sources indicate that it could be his former rival Dillian Whyte, although no official agreement has been confirmed at this time.
The heavyweight rivals were previously scheduled to meet in a rematch in August 2023, but the bout was ultimately cancelled due to an adverse analytical finding in Whyte’s pre-fight test.
Although ‘The Body Snatcher’ was then cleared to continue his career in 2024, removing any further obstacles.
With neither fighter currently having a contest lined up, speculation has begun to grow that a long-awaited second meeting between the pair could finally be arranged.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, suggested that he is still heading towards a potential showdown with Tyson Fury.
But also revealed that the 36-year-old is likely to return to the ring before then.
Hearn told iFL TV: “The March fight now becomes probably July.
“And if the Fury fight is still there, that probably becomes November, something like that.
“So there’s been discussions about going straight into a Fury fight.
“Obviously, he’s got his fight against Makhmudov.
“With everything that’s happened, I expect him to have a fight first and that fight to come in the summer.
“But you never know how he feels, and you might feel fantastic, and he might say, ‘Let’s go straight in.’ I don’t think so.
“Given the fact that he only had a few rounds against Jake Paul and everything that’s happened as well, unfortunately.
“But until he gets back into training camp, there’ll be no decisions on the actual route that we take.”
