After a tragic car crash last December, the return of Anthony Joshua is getting nearer and nearer.
You could argue that the most anticipated British fight of all time in Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury is closer than ever.
Eddie Hearn has confirmed to various news outlets that negotiations are at an advanced stage for a two fight deal with Turki Al-Sheikh and SELA for Anthony Joshua (29-4, 27ko’s).
Fight number one will be a warmup fight in July.
A clash with arch rival Tyson Fury (35-2-1, 24ko’s) is set for November.
No opponent has been revealed for the warmup fight just yet.
However, we do know that it will be a similar level to Fury’s last opponent Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-3, 19ko’s).
Pro Boxing Fans have revealed that the return of Anthony Joshua is set for July 25th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This is where it gets interesting.
Reports this week have suggested that Britain’s next star Moses Itauma (14-0, 12ko’s) is also set to return on this date, at the O2 Arena.
The 21 year old star is nearing closer to a world title opportunity.
Last time out, Itauma became the first person to knockout Jermaine Franklin (24-3, 15ko’s).
Who is next for him is yet to be seen, but a step up in levels is likely.
With both Joshua and Itauma exclusive to DAZN, this proposed schedule clash is likely to be causing problems behind the scenes.
As neither contest has been officially signed and announced as of yet, it is likely that this is a problem that is being resolved as we speak.
Both Itauma and Joshua are prize assets to DAZN.
Therefore, it will be of imperative importance that their fights don’t clash.
Come July time, fight fans around the world will be watching on nervously as Joshua returns.
Should AJ come through this fight, we will be one massive step closer to the fight we all want to see.
