The Briton has made clear he is not ready to step away from the sport just yet.
Anthony Joshua, a former two-time world champion, may be entering the latter stages of his career, but he remains focused on adding to his legacy.
In contrast, Moses Itauma is just at the beginning of his journey.
Despite being only 21, Itauma is already ascending the heavyweight ranks.
The unbeaten youngster has been linked with potential clashes against some of the sport’s biggest names, including Oleksandr Usyk and Joshua.
While Usyk has suggested he would not face Itauma, Joshua has said he would be open to the fight.
He explained to reporters: “Listen, it is another opportunity [to face Itauma].
“Will I? Of course. Let me get these two out of the way [Kristian Prenga and Tyson Fury].
“100 per cent, yeah, of course, why not? There are so many great opportunities presenting themselves.”
Joshua and Itauma have sparred on several occasions, with AJ previously full of praise for the rising talent.
Although a potential fight is unlikely before 2027, with Joshua currently tied to a two-fight agreement.
The 36-year-old will first face Prenga on 25 July in a warm-up bout ahead of his contracted clash with Fury before the end of 2026.
While his plans after that remain unknown, Anthony Joshua revealed he plans to remain active for the next few years at least.
The former Olympic gold medallist said: “For me, maybe until I’m like 40.
“It’s only like three or four years… I’m coming up to 37 in October, so it’s only three years, it’ll go quick.
“Obviously, it’s gonna be tough, but I definitely think I’m tough enough to do it.
“Why not, why not? I’m definitely more mature.”
