Agit Kabayel set to return with fight in Germany

Agit Kabayel has a quick turnaround as he is set to return to the ring in May, in his home country of Germany.

Agit Kabayel (27-0, 19ko’s) is set to return to the ring, once again in Germany as Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions eye a stadium fight for the WBC interim heavyweight champion.

Agit Kabayel has compiled an impressive résumé at both European and world level, with several standout victories that have strengthened his position in the heavyweight division.

Kabayel has defeated Derek Chisora, Arslanbek Makhmudov, Zhilei Zhang and Frank Sanchez.

In January, Kabayel enjoyed a significant homecoming bout in Germany, fighting in front of a passionate domestic crowd.

The event marked an important moment in his career, as it brought him back to home soil after competing on major international cards.

The atmosphere reflected his growing status within German boxing, with a crowd of over 10,000, many pundits stated that it was one of the most electric atmospheres they’ve ever experienced.

The arena sold out close to instantly, and this homecoming has unearthed a major fanbase for Kabayel.

It is believed that a British opponent is favoured for his return in May, but no specific name has been revealed at this point.

Kabayel has now won two fights at WBC interim championship level and is patiently waiting to be ordered for the world title fight.

The unified champion Oleksandr Usyk was granted a voluntary defence by WBC president Mauricio Sulamain, who this opponent is set to be is undecided at this moment.

Sulamain has declared that Usyk will be ordered to fight his mandatory after his voluntary defence, therefore at this stage for Kabayel it is important to keep active until his opportunity at greatness arrives.

Whether Kabayel will eventually get this world title shot is yet to be seen, but one thing is for sure is that he and Queensberry have unearthed the German market that hasn’t seen major boxing since the Klitschko brothers dominated the division.
