Broner facing criminal charges after returning to casino he was banned for life from.
At one point, Adrien Broner was one of the biggest American stars in the boxing world. A skilled, confident, and big-talking fighter, he was the type of boxer that fans of the sport either absolutely loved or absolutely loathed.
Of course, that type of personality has proven to be very successful over the years. One man who used this formula to perfection was Floyd Mayweather Jr., who Broner was compared to in the early portion of his career.
Indeed, Broner and Mayweather shared a close personal relationship together, with Mayweather serving as a mentor-like figure at one stage.
Though comparisons to Mayweather tend to dry up when a fighter ends up suffering a loss, and that is exactly what happened so infamously to Broner when he faced the dangerous Marcos Maidana in late 2013.
But in becoming a world champion across four separate divisions, Broner more than proved his talent during the high point of his career. Nowadays, though, things are not nearly as so bright.
Broner last appeared in the ring over two years ago, losing to Blair Cobbs. And since then, the man from Cincinatti has been absent from the ring.
In his latest episode of trouble outside of the sport, it has been reported by TMZ that Broner is facing a criminal trespass charge after he showed up at a Florida casino that he had previously been given a lifetime ban from.
According to court documents, the charge is related to an incident that took place at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which Broner was served a lifetime ban from in August of 2023.
A report from the Seminole Police Department states that Broner returned in April of 2024 despite this ban, which led to his arrest.
The case has apparently been going on for years, and an arrest warrant for Broner was recently issued by the court.
